The Tortoise And The Shell

Photography by Simon Creasey

Today's post is all about the trend of the season when it comes to accessories, Tortoiseshell.

I've partnered up with Monnier Freres for this post and I couldn't think of a better retailer when it comes to luxury accessories.  Admittedly I'm a little late to the Cult Gaia club but in a way I'm glad because this Tortoiseshell bag (also available in a mini version and a round version) is one of their newest designs and I can't help but feel 'so on trend' when I'm carrying it.  It's the perfect way to introduce this season's hottest trend to any of you looks, whether it be something casual like a maxi dress and sandals (ala moi) or something a little dressier, it works with so much and this is one little bag with a lot of character.

Sunglasses are another great way to add a hint of the trend to your accessories collection.  These Celine sunnies are, for me, the perfect shade of tortoiseshell and their rounded frame shape will suit most face shapes making them an excellent all-rounder...pardon the pun!  Or if you want something a little bolder these Stella McCartney shades nod towards another huge trend this season, the cat eye, and make quite the statement.

Side Note: Monnier Frères currently has a sale on with reductions of up to 50% so if you haven't checked it out already, go and have nosey...and if you see anything good, make sure you tell me haha x

I also love tortoise! One thing I like about this hype is that you don’t need to pay ridiculous amount of money in order to get it. I already have a Cult Gaia but that one looks pretty amazing as well… Need to consider about buying another one.

    Dear Emma.
I have been following you on Instagram and watching your You Tube videos for a while now after my daughter mentioned you to me last year. I wanted to say that you look gorgeous and I very much enjoy reading your blog and watching your photos and videos. You are very down to earth and I find your way to interact with your followers very refreshing . You have a great sense of style and although I can be your Mum and look at the outfits you wear and when I go shopping and look for similar pieces that I can wear onsidering my age. I believe that fashion does not have age and I think it is a shame that there are no bloggers I find interesting to follow that appeal to my age group. Keep the good work. The photography from Simon is very good. My congratulations to him as well.

Hi Emma. Is the H&M dress available in the UK? You’re linking to the US site and I’ve tried to find it on the UK site but no luck. Do you have a product code?

    • 20th June 2018 / 7:27 pm

Unfortunately it sold out on the UK site after I posted it in last Thursday’s video which is why it’s being linked to the US site. But try in store because my closest store has loads of them 🙂 x
