Well it was a 10 out of 10 for effort and props at the Oasis Spring/Summer 14 press day on Wednesday. The Vinyl Factory (a firm press day favourite) had been fully decked out as some kind of Stepford, english country garden, shed allotment turned Wizard of Oz wonderland. Really, it was quite special. All the quirky little touches really gave the collection the setting it needed to envision the inspiration behind it all. In each of the perfect little floral sheds (which are covered in the prints from their collections…how cute is that?!) lay a different collection with a different story to tell. I’m developing a rather clear obsession with two piece sets, whether it be a crop top and skirt or just matching jacket & trousers and at Oasis there was plenty of them to fuel my passion. Oasis really are bang on when it comes to their prints, they’re not generic and they always stand out from others on the high street. There was actually a lot of oriental prints in some of the collections and this is something really different to the press days I’ve seen so far. I love the cute navy play suit with the oriental print and satin trim, it’s just perfect summer wardrobe attire. Now I was taken by surprise by their footwear because I hadn’t really entertained it before simply through lack of knowledge that they even had a footwear range. As you all know, I’m not a massive fan of flats but their heels selection was really impressive. I love the block heeled, bold coloured suede sandals with the ankle cuffs, all lined up in a planter box to look like a bed of summer flowers. I’ve also fallen for their accessories, the statement necklaces in particular, because I’m a sucker for a good old statement necklace! I won’t waffle on any more because the pictures do the talking so please do take a few minutes to flick through them and see what pieces stand out to you and let me know what you think, so leave a comment in the comment box, I’m sure Oasis would love to hear all your feedback too 🙂 (Why not tweet them at @OasisFashion).
