The 3 Boot Trends You Need to Know for AW16

METALLICS

This trend is huge this season and what better way to work it than with your footwear?!

I don't know about you guys but I'm certainly not going to be strutting down the street in a silver suit any time soon, but fair play to those who can rock such a look.

But don't be scared of metallics, they're a really fun way to add a little something different to your daily looks. One of my go-to Winter outfits is a chic coat, chunky knit and a pair of shredded jeans. Normally I would add in some sneakers or ankle boots but see how the look is transformed but still casual with these pewter boots. If a solid metallic is too much for you, add a hint of shine with these gold heel ankle boots.

Metallics aren't just for Christmas, they are for life 😉

TEXTURE

Velvet, brocade, fur, embroidery...what texture are you feelin' this season?

Texture is unavoidable this season and you know what? I'm loving it!  The key to styling texture into your outfit is to let the footwear do the talking.  Keep the look simple with minimal fuss and let those statement booties turn heads as you walk down the street.

Velvet is one of the biggest trends of the season and these berry coloured boots are the perfect way to add a touch of the trend to any outfit.  This rather casual A/W look was instantly updated and transformed by adding a pair of velvet boots and tossing my sneakers aside.  If you're feeling really fashion forward you could rock a pair of these absolutely incredible brocade ankle boots, they look killer with an all black outfit for day or night.

Over The Knee

By far my favourite boot trend of the season, let's embrace the OTK's!

Shop my Suede OTK Boots here

I love the way a pair of OTK boots makes me feel when I'm wearing them.  I feel sexy and confident yet they get a bit of a bad rep.  We need to dismiss the 'Pretty Woman' stigma around OTK's and embrace them.

The advantage of an OTK boot is that they instantly elongate your legs and who doesn't want that right? I went for the mid block heel OTK's and styled them in this edgy but casual outfit, they are so versatile and even with a practical heel like this I still feel 'put together' and stylish.  If a heeled boot isn't your thing then Dune offer some amazing flat OTK's which look great over skinny jeans and teamed with a big chunky knit.

How would you wear yours?

I love all 3 styles you’ve picked out Emma. Sadly, after having surgery on my right foot this summer I can no longer wear heels of this height, so I’m going to hunt for some flatter alternatives as this post has really inspired me.
    Hugs Adele xoxo

Sorry to hear about that Adele. I have linked some flat alternatives in each style in the scrolling carousels, there are some amazing metallic Chelsea boots which are gorgeous and some suede OTK boots, and both are flat, yay 🙂 x

That velvet boots are to die for… not sure which colour I should take… berry or back to black 😉
Did you size up on this ones?

I am a 40.5 and yes I did go for the 41 in these as the 40 was a little bit too tight 🙂 x

Definitely loving the Over The Knee and metallic boots!

But think I’ll most probably be investing in pair of really nice suede OTK boots for the Fall 🙂

Nice to see you style a variety from Dune as well! Always forget to look there but they have some treats

You can’t beat OTK’s, as I said in the post, they really are my favourite style this season. Yes Dune have incredible shoes, and for boots they right up there as one of my faves. x
