Pantone Pink

Photography by Debs

There's a trend which is currently sweeping the Street Style collective and I never thought I'd be someone to embrace it.  The trend is pink, of all shades, although having said that Pantone did announce earlier on this year that 'Rose Quartz' (Pantone 13-1520) is the colour of the year for 2016.  I have to admit that normally I dislike pastels to a large degree (and most colours in general) but I had this pink mens shirt buried in my wardrobe from about 3 (maybe longer) years ago and every time I cleansed my wardrobe I always kept hold of it.  I'm feeling pretty smug about that now as finally it's calling has been fulfilled.  There's a lot to be said about the fit of a mens shirt, the slouch, the long sleeves, the stiff collar...all the makings of the perfect shirt.  Keeping the sleeves unbuttoned gives a laid back edge to the look and also creates a more flared cuff, and who doesn't love a flared cuff right?

So what do you think about pink?  Is the a trend you will be trying?

I was actually really surprised when Pantone announced at the beginning of this year that the colour was pastel pink, but now I just can’t get enough of it! I think it’s actually being considered as a neutral these days along with my greys, whites and blacks…

Such an effortless luck! I managed to steal that bag from Zara too and I’m obsessed!

Ohhhh winning! That’s amazing as I know so many people who tried to ‘bag’ one (pardon the pun) and couldn’t find them because they’d sold out. But what a bargain eh 🙂 #BagTwins x

Yes! It is key to select it in edgy, menswear type pieces (which you executed perfectly here). A frilly poufy frock in this colour would be too much. Have a good trip, Em!

I have recently picked up two pink shirts and love them! They seem to be my go to thing when I’m not sure what to wear at the moment xx

They are such an easy ‘throw-on’ option you’re so right about that 😉 x
