I’m back with my final instalment from the ‘3 Ways To Wear’ series I’ve been working on with Jaeger. Today it’s all about the Shirt Dress and I’ve been road testing this one over the last week, styling it up for work, evening and just a day to day casual look. When you have a piece like this shirt dress it’s super easy to style in so many different ways. Accessories are key in doing this and I’ve always loved how a few simple tweaks can take a look from day to night. I’ve fallen in love with Jaegers accessories during the time working on this series, the dainty jewellery and chunky belts from today’s looks are some of my favourites and just look at that black leather duffle bag, uh, so amazing!
This shirt dress is sleek, minimal and elegant, it has all the qualities we would look for in a workwear dress and because it it so simple that gives us plenty of options to play around with accessories. I’ve stuck with the monochrome theme and teamed a black waist belt, to cinch in the waist, with this leather bucket bag. The metal accents throughout the look are gold so this dainty gold jewellery just picks up those details.
The cotton fabric of this shirt dress makes it perfect for a holiday or a casual summer weekend. I’ve rolled up the sleeves to give the top half of the dress a slightly different silhouette and I always associate rolled up sleeves with Summer. Some neutral accessories like this belt, hat and sandals lighten up the look. You could also layer a denim jacket over the top on a cooler day for serious summer vibes.

This shirt dress is such a great day to night piece and all it takes is a few accessories to switch it up for a more evening look. I always find that a leather biker jacket is the perfect piece to take a look from day to night, not to mention a handy cover for when our unpredictable British summers strike again. Add in a black waist belt and some minimal jewellery as your outfits ‘deets’ and if it’s a hot date you’re going on, why not layer the dress over a black lace bra which can just be seen peeking through the neckline.
