Cut Off Flares

The cropped flare has been replaced, enter the cut off flares.  Ok so technically they’re the same thing but there is some DIY involved.  Cutting off and customising your denims is a huge trend amongst fashion folk the world over.  I had three pairs of black flares so I decided to experiment with creating a new hemline.  This was a pair of jeans which admittedly were slightly too short for me (curse these long legs!), and now they have a new lease of life and have escaped the charity bag(s) of doom that come from my wardrobe clear-outs.  After much Pinterest research I decided to opt for the hi-low hemline, in simple terms, you chop more off the front than the back.  To get the edges to fray the assistance of a cheese grater is required, but Jesus Christ just watch those knuckles, don’t end up with a fist full of plasters like I did.

The look in general is quite smart, opting for the white shirt and blazer combo but I’ve tried to make it look less office and more street (because y’know I’m down with the kids) by adding in a bandana.  Today’s bag of choice is my croc Saint Laurent which I’ve donned as a cross-body underneath the blazer.
