Festival season is upon us and despite the fact that I’m not headed to Glastonbury this week my style has taken a turn down the ‘rock-chick’ road. Festival chic is a look that can still be worn outside the realms of muddy fields, it just needs to be reigned in a little. So I’m afraid that’s a ‘no’ to wearing that feathered headdress down to Asda to do your big-shop.
Skinny jeans (always ripped!) are a great way to start off any rock-chic look. When the weather really heats up, maybe swap those for denim cut offs (aka shorts) but keep them distressed. If you have an old pair of Levis, cut em’ off! The best shorts I’ve seen have once been a pair of Levis jeans! If you’re going with the rock-chic vibe then add a low cut shirt and don’t be afraid to show your bra, just make it a nice one! You could even add a rock themed tee and a blazer if you’re that way inclined. A pair of biker or studded ankle boots will finish off the look along with a black leather bag.
If you’re leaning more towards the bohemian vibe then that’s easy too. Check out boohoo.com because they have got an incredible selection of boho dresses and tops which could be paired with skinny jeans or an a-line skirt (denim or suede). Tassels and fringing are key to being a bohemian so either add those to the look with a jacket or bag. Try a lace up gladiator sandal (these are my faves!) or unleash your inner Sienna Miller and add some studded ankle boots to toughen up the look.
Let me know if you guys are off to any festivals and if you need any style tips or advise on where to find any specific, you all know I love to shop so chances are I will have seen what you’re looking for at some point. I’m off to Wireless in a couple of weeks so maybe I may see some of you there!
