Marble Mania

Marble ikea malm dressing table DIY idea
I’ve recently developed an unhealthy obsession with all things marble.  I could spend hours searching through Pinterest looking at anything from marble counters to bathtubs to Macbook covers…I don’t even have a Macbook!  I needed to inject some much needed marble into my life so I vamped up my Ikea ‘Malm’ dressing table with some marble effect sticky back plastic (bought off Amazon here).  It’s incredibly easy to do and took me no more than 15 mins to cut the section to size and stick it on.  I hope you’ll agree that the effect is great and certainly makes a boring ‘Malm’ look a tad more expensive and luxurious.  But the marbling didn’t stop there, I used the off-cut to then marble the top of my chest of drawers (also Ikea)…y’know, just so everything matched 😉

It is a gorgeous bathroom. I’m not sure, I’m sure someone out there must have tried it! Alternatively there are some great ‘how to paint a marble effect’ pins on Pinterest which would defo work on a wall…just might take a while :/

Does it peel off okay? I’m living in a rental and would love to do it but don’t want to risk losing my deposit!

Yes it peels off fine, it would be a great idea for a rental!
