“New Year, New Me”…What Bollocks!

Let me start by wishing you all a Happy New Year and also by thanking you for your support and comments, they are always greatly appreciated!  So it’s 2013, another new year, and this year I decided to re-think the whole resolutions thing.  Every year I make resolutions in my head, I never tell anyone or write them down, already I set myself up for an #EpicFail.  By doing this I know that I don’t have to stick to them, so pretty pointless really.  However, this year I have decided to share with you my new year resolutions in the hope that the sheer pressure from all of your virtual eyes will make me stick to them.  Now, I’m not talking the usual resolutions that people make which in my opinion are utter bollocks.  There’s going to be no “new year, new me” motto uttered here!  There are however, some aspects of my life which I could change for the better, albeit very small aspects:
1.  “A Post A Day”.  This phrase has been used by me for most of the last year but I have yet to go any longer than 2 weeks doing a post a day.  The effort of having a full time job combined with blogging is a lot to contend with, and that will be my excuse for 2012, but I urge you not to let me use it for 2013.  I love my blog and should therefore share the love every day, even if it’s a crap post about “how to un-congeal old nail varnish” we all know the secret to that one, darnit!

2.  I must use a diary!  I am utterly useless at remembering dates unless I write them down.  I have my calendar on my iPhone and this comes in handy for birthdays, press events etc, but it’s not as old school as a proper diary.  I like the authenticity of a diary, it’s like a solid copy of what will happen in the future.  My iPhone on the other hand has a mind of it’s own, and will often sync all of my Facebook “friends” birthdays onto my calendar…I can’t begin to tell you the uselessness of this function.

3.  ‘Vlogging’ is something I’d like to give a whirl.  It seems that 2012 was the year that vlogging really got a jump start   Everyone who’s anyone is doing it, and that’s good enough reason for me.  So if any of you current vloggers out there have any tips then please share, I’m all ears.
4.  Explore London.  I feel like a crap Londoner for not enjoying all this city has to offer.  It could be down to laziness and that on a day off I choose to spend the day catching up on my TOWIE scoffing jaffa cakes rather than exploring the hidden gems of London.  So if any of you have any amazing places that are a ‘must-see’ in London, whether it be a bar or restaurant, or just somewhere ‘cool’ please tweet me your suggestions @Ems_EJSTYLE
And here’s some new years resolutions I’m NOT going to make:
Get fit!  Oh please!  It’s an unspoken rule to excuse the 1st January from this resolution but if like me by the 3rd of Jan you’d done nothing buy play Wii Sport sat on the couch and find yourself in a chocolate digestive coma, then this is not the resolution for you.  I still have a 2008 edition of the ‘Pump It Up’ workout DVD still in it’s wrapper, so it’s fair to say, this ship has sailed.  If you are determined to declare this as your resolution then perhaps ease your way in, try being a left-hand-side-of-the-escalator kinda person for a while.
Diet.  Pah! Enough said.
Be more organised (with the exemption of the above diary).  Utter chaos is my middle name, and I’m not going through the hassle of changing it.  Anyway, I know exactly where my Versace for H&M t-shirt is, right at the bottom of the pile of clothes on the floor.  Same goes for the ASOS shirt dress, the Topshop tube skirt and well all of my other belongings, on the floor.  If you’ve got a floor, you do not need organising.
Stop buying shit off eBay.  This.  Will.  Never.  Happen. True story.
